Jeremy & Kristen Kunkel serve with Engineering Ministries International (EMI) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  EMI is an organization that mobilizes short-term mission teams consisting of architects, engineers, surveyors, and drafters to provide building and campus designs for churches, Christian universities, Bible schools, children’s homes, hospitals, clinics, and ministry centers in developing countries.  EMI partners with gospel-preaching ministries in areas of the world that suffer from poverty, enabling the ministries to better serve the people in their care. EMI’s vision is to design a world of hope for the physically and spiritually poor.

EMI has seven offices worldwide, three called sending offices and four field offices. Each of the field offices focuses on serving a specific region of the world, while the sending offices have a broader scope in their projects. The sending offices (located in Canada, the UK, and Colorado Springs) play an important role in mobilizing Christian design professionals in each of their respective countries. In each semester (three per year), every EMI office receives a new group of interns and launches a new set of projects. Jeremy is the CAD (Computer-Aided Design) manager in the U.S. office. He travels on one to two project trips each year, and during the semesters he is not traveling he assists other project leaders in completing their projects after they return from project trips. Jeremy is also involved in training the new interns on CAD standards and answering their questions throughout the semester as projects are being completed. Kristen also volunteers in the office weekly. For more information on EMI’s ministry, visit www.emiworld.org.
