Ministry Summary

Paul and Ruth Ortiz, together with their children, Kai (9), Ryan (8), and Alana (5) are serving God in Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines with Action International Ministries. Paul is overseeing the building project for Shalom Birthing Home. Shalom is a ministry that was started by midwife missionary, Mavis Orton. She uses her home and midwifery skills to reach out to the impoverished community in Antipolo. Over 150 women are ministered to at Shalom each month. Mavis and her team of midwives serve these women as they deliver their babies, and provide pre-natal and post-natal care. Each of the women participate in an evangelistic Bible study and are also ministered to by pastors of two local churches.

Paul and Ruth enjoy supporting this ministry as Paul is building a much larger facility which will enable the missionaries and midwives to administer better care to the women. It will also open the door for more women and their families to come and hear the Gospel message and receive love and care by Godʼs people. Paul meets each morning with his crew for a time of prayer. He also meets with the guys during the week for Bible study. Ruth enjoys helping out at Shalom by interviewing new patients, and interacting with the women that come to Shalom.
