Welcome to Austin Bluffs!
Finding a new church can be a daunting task! But few decisions in life are more important than determining where the Lord would have you worship and serve. I trust that as you experience Austin Bluffs you will find that we are a church committed to honoring God and loving one another. Without question the greatest part of Austin Bluffs is the loving congregation who are hungry for the Word of God and committed to living it out.
Apart from visiting a Sunday morning worship service, perhaps the best way to get to know us is to attend our two-week introductory class called “Exploring Austin Bluffs.” During this class my wife and I share our testimonies of faith in Christ, give a brief overview of ABEFC’s history and affiliation, answer any questions about our doctrinal statement, and explain our mission and core commitments. I hope you will consider coming! Check out our church calendar to find the next scheduled class.
In the meantime, I would love to hear from you and answer any questions you might have about ABEFC. May the Lord bless you as you seek His will.
Pastor Lance Gentry
We’re just west of Academy Blvd. on Maizeland Road, at the top of the hill and on your left. Maizeland Road is south of Austin Bluffs and north of Constitution.
When you arrive, feel free to park in our visitor spots on either side of the church. You can also enter the building from either side.
What to Expect
We love to welcome and get to know new people and trust that you’ll experience this when you visit. If you have any questions before your first visit, please contact the church office and we will make sure your questions get answered.
After you enter the church, the sanctuary and restrooms are on the main level foyer, and just about everything else is either up or down a few stairs. Stop by our Welcome Center if you would like help locating anything.
We have three identical services on Sunday mornings. Visit our home page to see the service times. We also encourage you to visit one of our Sunday School classes during one of the first two services. Visit the Sunday School page to get more information about each one and to find out during which service it meets. Classes are offered for both adults and children (children's classes are offered during all services) and provide a great way of getting to know others in a smaller setting.
You’ll notice when you arrive that some folks dress up for church, while others come in more casual clothes. Please feel free to dress as you feel comfortable.
Preaching and Worship
You’ll find that verse-by-verse, Bible-centered, expositional preaching is the norm. As for music, we strive for a blend of classic hymns and contemporary praise songs, accompanied by an orchestra, praise band, or choir, depending on the week you visit.
Nursery and Nursing Mothers' Room
We’re grateful for our excellent nursery staff. Both the nursery and the nursing mothers’ room are located near the gym. To get to the gym, just head down the main stairs, and turn right through the double doors, and you’re there. The nursery is on your right, while the nursing mothers’ room is across the gym on your left. There are also chairs available for mothers of small children in the foyer just outside the sanctuary.
Children Age 4 through First Grade can stay with their parents during the worship service, but feel free to bring them to our “Children’s Church” during the last song before the message (see the note in the bulletin) . Children’s Church takes place just up the main stairs, in the first classroom on the right. Just follow the group of giggling little ones and you’ll find it.
Our friendly hosts at The Welcome Center in the foyer are there to greet you and help point you in the right direction or to meet any other need. Please stop by anytime during your visit.
The Church Office is located in the house just east of the main church building. Our pastoral and administrative staff can be found there Tuesday through Friday. Please contact the church office if you have any questions.
